Dr. John F. Knight, Jr.

Dr. Knight Serves as State Representative for Alabama’s 77th house district, since 1993 and continues to serve on the Ways and Means General Fund, Health (Ranking Minority Member) Montgomery County Legislation committees. A decorated Vietnam War veteran and champion of quality-of-life issues such as decent wages, adequate health care, affordable housing and quality public education, Knight served as a member of the Montgomery County Commission from 1980-1992. He also serves on a number of boards, including the Montgomery Housing Authority, Montgomery Improvement Association, Southern Development Council and Kershaw YMCA. He is Chairman of the Montgomery County Democratic Conference and a member of Leadership Montgomery and Leadership Alabama. Currently employed as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Alabama State University, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree from ASU in 1974 and an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Alabama A&M University. Chairman Knight enjoys family life and is an avid golfer.

General Paul M. Hankins
Vice-Chairman
General Hankins was hired as the president of AAICU in February 2005 where he leads a non-profit organization representing the interests of fourteen non-profit, SACS accredited, four-year colleges and universities in Alabama. He entered the private sector as a municipal consultant to the Mayor of the city of Montgomery, Alabama and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce where he led the efforts to overturn the recommendations of the 2005 BRAC commission and save over 2000+ jobs that were scheduled to be moved out of Alabama. Prior to that, he served over 29 years in the United States Air Force culminating in his final position as the Commander of the Air Force Officer Accession and Training Schools. In that position, General Hankins served as the university president for three separate educational arms of the US Air Force — Air Force ROTC (18,000 students at 144 college and university locations), Air Force Junior ROTC (113,000 students in 744 high schools) and a post-graduate officers training program (3,500 students in resident on-campus programs). Gen Hankins accumulated 25+ years of experience in various leadership positions including over seven years as a direct liaison for the Department of Defense and the Air Force with the U.S. Congress.
Paul currently serves as a Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the Montgomery Housing Authority; Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Montgomery Education Foundation; Vice Chairman for the Alabama Prepaid Affordable College Tuition (PACT) Board; member of the Board of Directors for the Central Alabama Sports Commission; the Board of Directors for the Metro Area YMCA; the Board of Directors for the Alabama Military Stability Foundation; the Board of Directors for the Coalition for College Cost Savings; the Board of Directors for the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and most recently co-chaired the F-35 Task Force that successfully brought the Air Force’s next F-35 fighter wing to Montgomery’s Air National Guard Unit.
A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, General Hankins holds a BS degree from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado, and a MS degree from Troy University in Alabama. He completed a yearlong national fellowship with the Broad Foundation’s Urban School Superintendents Academy in 2004 and is a graduate from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business Senior Executive Program. He is married to Donna Hankins and they have two children, Priscilla Hankins Wunderl and Clark Hankins.

Raymond L. Roton, Sr.

Raymond L. Roton, Sr. is the managing member of Roton & Bear, LLC and Cypress Development, LLC. Mr. Roton entered the securities industry in 1970 and completed projects in more than 30 states before retiring from the profession in 2011. His expertise lies in housing- and development-oriented financing. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Finance from the University of Alabama. Roton is on the Administrative/Personnel and Modernization Committees of the MHA and is vice chairman of the Montgomery Water Works and Sanitary Sewer Board. He has also served as chairman of Methodist Homes for the Aging and served as an active member of The Haven, Our Lady of Peace, as well as numerous other nonprofit organizations in Alabama and Florida.

Alfred Hood
Commissioner
Retired from the U.S. Army. Currently works with the Alabama Department of Corrections. Mr. Hood has been a Commissioner on the Montgomery Housing Authority Board since 2006. He chairs the Administrative/Personnel Committee and is a member of the Safety and Modernization Committees. Mr. Hood is a graduate of the University of Maryland. In his spare time he enjoys giving back to the community serving as President and Neighborhood Watch Coordinator of the Monterey Park and Hunter’s Point Neighborhood Association.

Willie Durham
Commissioner
Willie Durham is a lifelong resident of Montgomery served proudly in the U S Marine Corps for over 20 years retiring in 2003. In 2005, he established his State Farm Insurance Agency office where he quickly built a name as an industry leader in the field. A man of faith, Mr. Durham is a member of the New Home Missionary Baptist Church where he serves on the Board of Deacons. Also active in the community, Mr. Durham currently serves on several boards to include the Chairman Elect of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, Committee of 100, Baptist Hospital Board of Directors, Montgomery Habitat for Humanity and Child Protect Advocacy Center. Mr. Durham is The Past President of The Montgomery Sunrise Rotary Club. He also serves as a Commissioner with The Montgomery Housing Authority. Mr. Durham has been married for 34 years to his high school sweetheart, the former Terrie Fleming and they have a 19 year old son, Kolby.

Andrea Rogers Mosley
Commissioner
Prior to joining the SBDC at ASU, Mosley owned a small business, Prestige Consulting and Designs. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University and a Master of Arts Degree in Human Services Counseling Business from Liberty University.
A Desert Shield/Desert Storm veteran, Mosley honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1989 to 1993. She is active in her community serving as board of directors of the Alabama MicroEnterprise Network (A.M.E.N). director for Camp KARATer, a project of Saved Kids of Incarcerated Parents (SKIP), Inc, and a roundtable facilitator for the Montgomery Chamber of Conference Women in Business Conversations. She has also served on the executive board of the Alabama PTA as State Vice President of Legislation and Advocacy/Federal Legislative Chair, a board member of the Alabama Poverty Project, member of the 2005 Montgomery Public Schools Facility Study Committee, assistant Boy Scout Master and Program Committee of Troop 224, and campaign manager for 2 elected officials. Mosley is a licensed and ordained minister and serves as Associate and Adult Sunday School teacher at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church (Mt. Meigs, AL). She is a member of the IOTA Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. a professional and businesswomen fraternal organization. Mosley is a married to Perry Mosley and blessed with four wonderful children.

Richard E. Hanan
Commissioner
Richard E. Hanan is a founding member of Aliant Bank (then First Montgomery Bank). He recently retired as Secretary-Treasurer of Loeb & Hanan, Inc., one of Montgomery’s most renowned homebuilding companies. Mr. Hanan chairs the Modernization Committee of the Montgomery Housing Authority Board and serves on several other boards to include Chairman of the Water Works & Sewer Board for the City of Montgomery, President of the Alabama Water & Sewer Institute, Chairman of the Board for MARC, Inc. (McInnis School), President of H.E.L.P. (Handicapped Environmental Living Program), President of the Special Olympics of Alabama and member of The Hope Project, AUM Advisory Board, and Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Hanan has received such awards as the Mankind Award, the Lotus Award, Humanitarian of the Year, and the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Community Service in Education.

Frank Brown
Commissioner
Frank Brown Currently serves as the Government Relations Manager for the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Mr. Brown was appointed as a Commissioner of the Montgomery Housing Board, in February 2016. He is a member of the Montgomery Housing Authority’s Modernization Committee and the Community Resource Committee. Mr. Brown is the Chairman of the Montgomery County Community Corrections and Punishment Authority and of Life Time Resolutions. He serves on the following Boards: Landmark Foundation, Cleveland Avenue YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Alabama. Ms. Brown received his Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama State University and his Masters in Public Administration from Ashford University. His community involvement includes Maggie Street Missionary Baptist Church, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Lambda Alpha Upsilon and Leadership Montgomery.
