The Montgomery Housing Authority (MHA) administers a Public Housing program which is designed to assist low to moderate income families with affordable, sustainable housing, while improving the quality of their lives and encouraging independence. MHA currently owns, manages and is affiliated with 8 affordable housing communities, including one elderly site, located throughout the City of Montgomery. The Public Housing program serves over 1400 families.

MHA’s Public Housing program promotes fair housing and is committed to providing excellent service to all public housing applicants and residents. Serving a diverse population, MHA encourages economic self-sufficiency through its various programs, to include the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program which assists participating families achieve economic independence and success.
